Missions Trip To Peru
August 1-13 2010


Then Jesus came to them and said,
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

A ministry team called and led by the Holy Spirit will be going to Peru for a missions trip. We have been praying for this country and our involvement for nearly three years. On August 1 we will depart from Miami to Lima, Peru. We will then connect with a flight north to our destination, Chiclayo! Our project is to do construction and share compassion with the family of believers and their community at Ramiro Priale Church of the Nazarene.

Pastor Isaac Vasquez and his growing church have a vision to reach their community with the transforming message and grace of Jesus Christ! Part of their strategy has been to raise funds for a building. They are in the process of drawing up plans for a four story building in phases. Through hard work, sacrifice and prayer they have been raising money to begun construction. This is a faith step for them as they have resources to lay the foundation and walls, but then what? Will the project stop? Who will help them? Will God provide?

Part of the answer is in OUR COMMITMENT TO GO! We are pledging to raise and send $10,000. We will raise the funds through outreach fundraisers and generous donations from people who want to invest in this. The money will be sent ahead so their will be plenty of lead time to purchase building materials to be on site when we arrive. Our GO Team (Global Outreach) will be pouring concrete- roof/floor, electrical, painting and other general construction. Some of our team will be sharing compassion through other creative ways of ministry. (Non-laborers are also needed!) The construction project is not the end in itself. The relationships, ministry and the universal language of the love of Christ are what really matters on this trip! We are not giving a "hand -out", we are sharing a "hand -up"to brothers and sisters in Christ!

Each member of the GO Team needs to raise their own expense money of $1400 per person for airfare, lodging, food, and one or two cultural excursions. This will be made possible through prayer, hard work, and the generous donations from others. This trip will be a life-changing opportunity. Picture yourself in South America after a long day of hard work and ministry. Now it is evening and our team, gathered around a table, has just finished a supper of Peruvian food, (that might be guinea pig). We are three thousand miles from home, tired, and yet immensely satisfied. Someone has finished reading the parable of the Good Samaritan and we close our eyes to pray. You drift off to sleep and then awaken to realize you have been dreaming... or have you? YOU CAN GO TO PERU!
